Go get someone to wrap it or take it to get painted.

 

Have you checked to see if Chevy offers a black grille option for your year and model?

 

FWIW. Plastidip works really good for plastic chrome. fairly resistant too if the application is decent.

 

Overlays look bad to me. You can almost always see the original grille behind them. Not a good look.

 

I have a before and after on my build of exactly this. Hate it before, hate after situation.

 

when i had chrome and i wanted black, i put an add of craigslist.
trade my chrome for your black, you swap, you save.

poeple want the crhome, and they will come to you house, remove and swap your parts for free.

It's the easiest, best simplest way to get black parts.

and its free, and you dont touch a thing.

 

Please don't do plasti dip. Even though it's not a pro grade truck, you spent a lot of money on it so don't make it look cheap.

 

Tried plastic dip once. Followed the directions specifically...did it on OEM chrome clad rims...lasted a day...would pass on plastic dip for any exterior parts. Went ahead and purchased black wheels.
