So I got in my truck today to come home and when I got home I took the key out and opened the door and everything turned off like normal (radio, etc.) BUT the door chime just Keeps Chiming if the door is open???

It's like the truck thinks there is still a key in the ignition on ACC or something and keeps chiming with the door open ... But There's No Key In?!?!?!?

I disconnected the battery and reconnected trying to clear any issue but it still persist.

I did use my key at work to pen some boxes and it got sticky with tape ... maybe some got off in the ignition causing this somehow? That's the only thing abnormal that happened prior to this chime now not stopping.

Am I missing something here? This of course never happened before.

Anyway of fixing this or does anyone know what this may be?

It turns off if the door is closed and of course when the car is set to "on" and started but it just Chimes away with no key in , everything off and the driver door open.

HELP.

Thanks so much

Have you started the truck since it started doing this?

I have a random similar problem on my 2014 that I haven't looked into yet
Sometimes mine keeps chiming with the keys in the ignition and all doors closed. When I take the keys out, the chime stops.
This has happened 3 or 4 times over the last 6 months

Checked all the doors to make sure they're closed tight?

Lights are turned off?
Yep ... I even turned them off manually as well to make sure that wasn't the issue (it's normally on auto so they turn off after a minute)

I can;t seem to figure out what the hell

Wonder if I bunged up the key part in the ignition with the sticky key?

Dunno

Stuff like this Drives Me NUTS!!!!

I see this a lot with all different brands. You could be right that using the key for a box cutter caused this or it could be a random failure. I agree that it's a failure of the lock cylinder. They're pretty cheap and easy to replace.

I had the same problem I just figured out that I had my lights on manually. I set my lights to auto and the chiming stopped while my drivers side door is open. This was driving me crazy for the past couple days. Hope this works for you Roger

....9 year old thread. And yes, if you leave the lights on when you turn the ignition off and open the door, the chimes start going off to alert you...and multiple people already suggested making sure the lights were off...
