2002 Silverado 1500 Z71 .
Putting new leaf springs On this weekend and need to know the rear shackle to frame bolt size . Plan on just cutting the bolt on gas tank side to keep from dropping tank.
Grade 8 should be fine right?
Have been told 9/16 x 4.5" and also by another place 5/8 x 5" .
Don't have truck with me to measure it before I buy the bolts .

Thanks

I did the shackles on my 2001. They were 9/16" I bought some grade 8 bolts.

Stock is a grade 10.9 which converts to a grade 8.

But, I remember looking at the front and I think the front spring eye has a larger bolt. I'm not 100% sure though. I can check for you tomorrow morning though if you want.

I just took a look and unfortunately I don't have anything to measure with (I'm at school and I only brought a basic set of tools) but it looks like it's 9/16 as well

It was a little hard to tell because I replaced the rear bolts with regular grade 8 bolts and the front is still the type with the non treaded tip. But the threaded area looks to be the same as the rear.

I have a 01 Silv beater truck we use for work and when I bought replacement springs from ATS Springs they gave me a 5/8" x 4-1/2" bolt for the front spring eye and a 9/16" x 4-1/2" for the rear spring eye and the shackle bolt that connects to the hanger.
