Leveling kit and gas milage

Hey guys, got a quick question for those of you that installed a leveling kit but still have stock sized tires. I am looking at a 2" RC leveling kit and wondered how much, if any, will it affect my gas mileage? I have a 2010 crew cab, 4wd, 1500. I drive almost an hour and a half in my truck every day so I do not want to make my mileage any worse. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks

I installed 2" RC leveling kit with 285/65/18 Stock rims. So far the reading went down only .3 miles per gallon. So Not a dramatic drop by no means.

I ran mine on the stock tires for a few months after I dd the leveling. I had no change. Then, I removed my lower air dam. Still no change. I then upgraded to 275/65/18 tires. Still no change, other than a slight decrease when towing the boat. But that's more due to the tires, not the leveling.

Do it...you will love it!

I surprisingly gained about 1 mpg which is kind of weird to me. I drive mostly in town and after couple months of having my 2" RC kit, my mpg slightly went up. I'm definitely not complaining.

Rough Country leveling kit, air damn delete, 31 inch Hankook dynapros. No difference. It "floats" down the highway at high speeds due to air pushing under front end more. But that's just about it.

I had no difference until I put a bigger tire on. With 31 inch tires with and without the leveling kit was the same. I noticed a significant difference when I put the bigger tires. But, I live only a mile from where I work. It's driving to the gf's that kills my gas, haha

You said you drive an hour + every day, so I assume it's highway miles. A little off subject, but for the past month I've been running in M5 mode in town (under 50mph) to keep the AFM system from engaging. Compared to running in D with AFM I've picked up just over 2 MPG (13.3 vs 15.4) in town. There's several posts under the engine thread if you search on AFM.
Just a suggestion.

When I tow my boat, which is about 4500 pounds combined boat/trailer) I get a slight rear squat. Considering my total amount of towing is minimal, I don't care. I'd rather have the leveled look for the 90% of the time I am not towing. And, I do not notice a towing performance or handling difference at all. Here is a pic:

Tongue weight is generally about 10% of total weight (optimally). Mine is not that heavy...probably about 260-275. I have a lot of weight in the back of the boat, due to engine in the rear.

All I gotta say is if your worried about fuel economy then you shouldn't have bought a truck. J/K....Naw a leveling kit wont mess with so much that you'll even notice it.

A lot of people post that and I don't get it. I'm not worried about it, but there's nothing wrong with being conscious of mpg. Why not try to get the best the truck can get for just trippin down the road.

Well, I have a Class 8 semi, slightly more truck that these silverado cars on steroids, and I concern myself with fuel economy daily. But then, I go thru around $67K in fuel every year with it, and just one tenth increase in fuel economy will save me $1000 a year in fuel. I have no problem with folks that want to tweak all they can out of their auto or pickup. Makes sense to me. Why throw any more money away than you have to.

I know you were just kidding. But you would be surprised at the number of folks who wouldn't be kidding by making the same comment.

I just added the rough country leveling kit to front and man it look a lot better. My new 2015 (2K miles )and was getting 18 city 23 hwy. After adding the kit, I drove 3.5 hrs to NC at 55-65 speeds and pretty flat hwy but now only see 19.3 hwy. Anyone else see this dropped?
I really hope its a fluke but it stayed that way after a full tank run.... stock 18" tire, no mods etc...
