Linglong Crosswind Tires. Short review

I recently bought a 2013 GMC Sierra, 2WD, reg cab, standard bed, 4.3 with auto trans. The dealer replaced the two front tires with Linglong Crosswind's. I'd never heard of them before, but as long as they were black, round and held air, I figured they were OK. Tread pattern seemed nice, wet and dry traction seemed good, no weird road noise, I was mostly pleased with this new unheard-of tire.
Until...I hit the highway. Then I had a weird vibration I couldn't track down. Dealer looked at the truck twice, tire balance was good, and everything else checked out OK. After some more testing, dealer determined one of my new Linglongs was defective, removed and replaced them with a pair of tried and true Cooper Discoverer A/T3's and vibration is gone. All is right in the world again.

Is a shame, they were good looking, good traction, quiet tires. Maybe I just got a bum tire and this is unusual for them. Don't know, just thought I'd share in case someone runs into this brand someday.

That's a total junk brand. I have an extremely cheap friend who has a beater Altima- he put that brand tires on and wow are they terrible. We were just talking about this this other day.

I try to limit what I buy with Chinese " origins" to "take out." Its near impossible, though. Regardless of circumstances, I would have never let the dealer put those on my truck. I can hear myself saying to the Service Advisor right now: "WTH are those?"

Well, they were on the truck when I bought it, and Service Department was closed, so I took delivery with them on and am dealing with them now. But, thankfully they're now off the truck, the dealer put on a nice new pair of Cooper Discoverers instead.
But yes, I agree with you all, the Linglongs are a cheap, junk tire.

Do you have different tires in the front than in the rear then? I could never deal with that...too OCD....haha

My big thing when people are buying parts for vehicles, or just an expensive vehicle first of all, is how they cheap out on the two most important items: brakes & tires

The contact patch of what connects your 5500lb vehicle, plus you, your family, your load, etc. That contact patch on each tire is smaller than a side plate. That's it. They turn the vehicle, accelerate, and stop.
I'm not saying most expensive=best, but research and read reviews.
