nice...and cheap....hmmmm

When i was 16 i drove a 13 year old 1985 toyota tercel hatchback...money to spend on rims for a nice car? hah!

Not to put ya down, but I'd recommend saving that money for vocational training or college (neither are getting any cheaper...)

You can take any old steel wheel to a powder coating shop and get chrome look coating pretty inexpensively. Very durable wheel and durable coating. Beware of cheap wheels!

have you begun to look on your own before turning to a thread? if so where? have you looked at any wheel/tire shops local to you? Craigslist? TireRack.com? Like someone said on here before, beware of cheap wheels, there's no way you wanna go cheap on something that's going to be relied on, on a daily basis. cheap isn't always good. if you have the z71 appearance package, I'm assuming you got a nice set of stock wheels with it as well. the z71 appearance trucks on my lot tend to have the nicer wheels offered by GM as standard anyways, so i wouldn't imagine yours aren't a nice set either. if its your first vehicle, especially being brand new, you should prolly take this time to get to know your truck, capabilities with stock equipment, and not try to mod so fast. remember, you and your truck are very young.... you have all the time in the world to do what you want with it.... have some safe fun with it.

dude when i was 16 i got a free 1980 jeep cherokee from my uncle....then after i beat that one to death i got a free 1990 honda accord....when that i beat i finally was able to afford a 700 dollar car an 1990 audi 80 series....my parents could have bought me a new car..but what good woudl that have done...my sister got a car when she turned 16 a decent car that would be reliable for a couple years, but my brother and i had to fend for ourselves...heck and im only 24 my dad wanted us to grow up to know how to work on shit, and if something is broke fix it dont go out and trade it off on something newer...

spoiled kids these days lol....the neighbor hood i live in the kids drive nicer vehicles the my wife and i have...bmw's, new mustangs, new trucks, like WTH....how can you learn to appreciate anything with that happening......

The problem is there is no appreciation or respect.... you just turned 16 and was given a $40k truck... use your head. He could have bought you a 91 civic and said have fun. Instead you have one of the best and safest trucks on the roads today. Consider saving up your money for the more important things in life.... you know like gas, maintenance, insurance, collage or whatever. Be responsible and show respect for what was just given to you...

Don't expect much pity from those on the forum who had to work their @$$es off to get their trucks. even then because they were being responsible they couldn't commit to buy exactly what they wanted and had to compromise.

Unless your going to spend the rest of your life being spoon fed whatever you wanted save your money and buy something half descent for rims. Don't go cheap now because you don't have a lot of cash...again be responsible with your money.

Do cl I foud a set a 20 chrome rockstars with tire for 650. We do work hard to have the trucks we have but I have seen worse there's a 16 year old kid with a 2012 dmax and its got a lift tires rims its nice dad got it for him so he didn't have to worry so don't feel to bad or you can do something with your stock rims plasti dip seems to be the best route and cheapest I know you want chrome but black always looks good and for $6-$8 a can and only needing two to 3 tops seems good to me just my thoughts. Don't buy cheap rims that you don't like that much because you will be buying new ones when you find the ones you do like spending twice save up man

As others have said nice runs and cheap don't go together. Save up for a good set. Read reviews on the tire/rim sites to avoid buying a crappy set. I love the 20s that came on my 2012 so see if you can find a truck at a dealer with them.
