i have a 13 silverado, i installed an alpine ive-w530 radio in my truck this weekend. bought a scorche wiring harness for it ( was experimenting on how well it would work) now my park assist doesnt work. it turns off right away.. sometimes. 9 out of 10 times as soon as i start the truck it turns off. my main issue with it is that it is an intermittent issue, it will turn off and on randomly while driving down the road. did i miss something while installing the radio? or is it as simple as needing that better (way more expensive ) wiring harness.

I'm thinking defective harness or need a better one. To me scorche are low end and not equipped to deal with the tech in newer trucks.. does the 13 have security that is part of the radio? If so I think u have to have a adapter that can bypass that

I just went to their website and for some reason could not find anything for that veh.. Went to Pac site and it looks like their harness is a complete system... compare what u bought with pac

Try just unplugging and re plugging harness connectors. Maybe one of them didn't seat all the way.

The adapter he has covers Park Assist. I would try checking the connections on the module and the Park Assist button on the dash.
So what all does park assist do? the scosche just retains chimes. Where pac retains sensors/backup assist

Pac feaatures

Retains steering wheel controls (pre-programmed)
Retains OnStar® when the factory radio is replaced
Retains factory Bluetooth (2009+ model vehicles)
Retains rear seat audio controls
Retains all warning chimes (chime module included)
Retains back-up sensors/park assist
Retains factory Bose audio systems
Retains factory premium Bose audio (Y91 digital. does not support fading)
Retains factory reverse camera
Dual zone function
Chime volume adjustment (factory buttons)
Rear seat audio and video (GMRVD2) required
OnStar volume adjust from steering wheel controls
OnStar volume adjustment
Retained accessory power output (RAP)
Reverse wire output
VSS (Vehicle Speed Sense) output
Illumination output
Parking brake output
Includes antenna adaptor
Retains lane departure warning system
Retains OnStar Turn-by-Turn voice prompts

Just go to the pac site and enter your veh info it will pop up.. I personally hate scoshe i put one in my 03 and in a month im now on my second unit and it still has half the issues the old one had.. I may just take the loss and order a pac online and be done with it.

Zrock, please do your homework before spouting off that the guy needs a new module. His complaint is about back up assist not functioning correctly. The Schosche module says it retains back up assist, chimes, and other features in the table below. It may not retain as many features as the PAC, but that doesn't mean he needs a new module.

I tested it on the way to work this morning. It turned off and came on 5 times in 10 miles, mostly staying off, I'll double check the wiring and connectors after work. But being that it says it retains park assist, maybe this specific one is defective? I could always try another one and if it fixes it then the module itself was bad (or dropped.. it come from Walmart after all lol)
