Maf sensor cleaned ? Sometimes after cleaning everything up you may need to unhook the battery for a reset. Wouldn't hurt to try.

I recently had this issue and ended up replacing the TPS motor (black plastic thing attached to the TB), then went to the dealership to have it reprogramed. Truck runs perfectly now. I let it go so long that eventually it threw p2135 code. There is a TSB out there somewhere for it.

No problem. Your symptoms sound a lot like mine. My trucks rpms would bounce around then drop to like 400-450 and the truck sounded and felt like it was going to stall but would shoot back up to 600-650 rpms. At first it would only happen at idle but as it got worse the truck started to drive weird. I cleaned both the TB and MAF w/ the battery disconnected. It ran fine for about a week then threw the P2135 code. Check amazon for the sensor. That's where I got mine from. There is also a video on youtube that walks you through the install on a Silverado.

Sounds like what my 2001 did when my tps (throttle position sensor) went bad.

Mine would run and idle fine then at random it would idle at around 1000 rpm. Sometimes it would go back to normal and other times I had to shut the truck off and restart it to make it stop.

I narrowed it down to the tps by monitoring the value it was putting out with my scanner. When it was idling at its normal speed the sensor read 0%. But when it did it's 1000 rpm thing at random it would read around 10% throttle even though my door wasn't on the throttle.

So basically the truck though I was giving it throttle when I wasn't.

Replaced the sensor and it fixed it. I got an acdelco sensor off amazon. I will only use acdelco for anything electrical on these trucks. Amazon often has good prices. I'd just make sure it's sold by Amazon to help avoid fakes.

Oddly enough mime started acting up shortly after I cleaned the throttle body. So perhaps some stuff made its way in there some how, or it was just a coincidence

 

question- if i buy the TPS will a dealership put it in as part of the ext warranty bulletin even if im not throwing a code or anything. I had all plans to replace myself but just curious
