Ok to drive around in M5?

I've noticed if I drive around in M5 in my 2010 Sierra, V4 never kicks in. I'm ok not having the extra gear around town and mileage is not a factor for me. When my bank account settles after the holidays I plan on ordering a Range. Am I ok driving in M5 full time? At 55K miles I don't want to be the next AFM statistic.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I didn't think it would, but if an engineer is dumb enough to make a full size truck drive around on 4 cylinders, there's no telling what else marketing talked him into doing.

I've heard good things about Lew and his tunes. But it makes me nervous (even the range makes nervous, but less nervous than AFM) to start messing with shift points and mixture feeds. I got 300k out of my last GMC, I want the same. Although I do baby my trucks and drive like a blue hair.
