Soo im adding OBA to my GMC!

Already did this on my jeep but i find myself needing it as well when im in the Truck.

This will allow me to have a 10 CFM compressor and 125 PSI of air as long as the engine is running!

Ill be looking for a york air compressor out of an old Volvo to mount to the plate!

More pics to come if Kilby Enterprises ever gets back to me on the status of the brackets!

This compressor will have a magnetic clutch installed on it driven by a smaller v belt that will run off the alternators pulley. This pulley will have serpentine notches and a v-grove for the belt, so if the compressor seizes I don't lose the whole truck!

Excuse my ignorance but what is the purpose of this? I could understand it for guys that want to "slam" their trucks on "bags" (even though I don't quite understand that concept yet or why you would do it to a truck) but I see you have a 4x4 truck. If you are looking for emergency air why not just get a 5 - 10 gallon air tank that you can mount in the bed or even put in the cab for $30 - $50. When I worked in the garage (no longer work as a mechanic) we would always carry one around with us and they gave us plenty of air to fill up a tire or two.

Well you have a constant supply of air up to 125 psi(or whatever pressure switch you want), 10 CFM at idle, and you could run pneumatic tools.

I'm an offroad guy and have the same york compressor setup onboard my jeep. Its just one of those things that's you never knew you wanted until you had it plus its convenient when working in the field!

Ill also be able to inflate and deflate my helper bags whenever I need!

Power tanks are cool but I don't have to worry about filling up my tank, ever! I've also seen them run out on the trail!

Plus the junkyard kit is cheaper, ill go find an old volvo and take the compressor!!!

Yea, I run my lockers with the same compressor and I've def used it to reseat a bead on a tire!

Whole setup with bracket and shopping around cost $450
The compressor is the cheap part, yorks are usually 30-50 depending on how shady a junkyard you go to!

I'll get a list of all the vehicles that use Yorks

More progress on the compressor install.

All the parts are ordered, now i'm just waiting for everything to arrive!

Got the serpentine belt clutch, because I couldn't find a new or used alternator combo pulley anywhere.

Rap How-to On Nbs (keyed Accessory Power)

I posted this link because it has saved me once again from cutting/ drilling into my truck. All of my wires will come out of the electrical bus under the dash, to a rocker switch, then to the compressor Pressure switch, powering the compressor!

This port has the remote turn on, full time 12V 30A power source, and a ground port. Adding a relay onto this plug will give me a 12V 30A accessory hot for the compressor clutch.

These clutches will Absolutely DESTROY your battery if you don't use an accessory hot wire

York compressors used on many things Ford car and trucks, class 8 trucks(varying engines) tractors, off road loaders are just a taste, some use slots on bottom to mount and tighten belts, many times the bolts are stripped or cracked and will not hold freon-still ok for air just put sealant on bolts and check oil level, magnetic clutch available with groove or serpentine belt,, (easy to change put bolt to pull pulley off shaft) single groove or double groove pulley
