New truck, new thread.
Fumoto and first round of scamsoil ordered.

Bak hard roll-up tonneau on the way.

Considering the Borla S-type exhaust.

From there, I intend to ceramic coat and add the normal aeroskin bug guard.

25% tint front windows complete, 5% sunstrip complete (love this).

Other than that, I plan to keep this one largely stock aside from some lighting changes (boost mirror LEDs, grill light bar, ditch lights). I have the sound system I was intending to install in my last truck on hand and ready to go. Not sure if it's worth the effort to put in vs the OE bose, as the Bose seems to work more than well enough for me. Anyone want some killer speakers? hehe

I always use a headache rack. I don't want a backrack on this truck as they tend to rust at the welds pretty quickly, as well as the new trucks cab has a kind of spoiler trim for the 3rd brake light. So the headache rack would have a larger than normal gap to the back window, looks kind of odd. To get an aluminum one is too costly for the purpose/ my use case for the rack. So I am looking at height adjustable two post "expedition" style racks. This is not something I need now or frequently, so, it's backburnered for now.

Just clicked 700 miles and had my first aggressive highway merge. 10 speeds is both satisfying and a unsatisfying at the same time. The engine never gets the chance to really stretch itself in the higher RPMs, as it's already shifting hehe. Shifts damned smooth though

So I went deeeeeeep down the bed cover/rack rabbit hole.

Eventually, some type of rack is in the cards but as I have no immediate use, I got the T-slot tonneau, roll-up variant. (Bak x4 hard rollup or some such).

At the end of the day, most of the options out there seem to be very specifically applicable with their own gear, rather than universal.

I think long term I will add the Yakima overhaul rack with molle panels. But, thatis not likely to be for a while.

I did nab the usual AVS aeroskin, I tried to install. This hood is a little tricker than the previous designs, that said, the one they shipped me was bent and did not fit well. As such, it developed a vibration/buzz over 70mph, and I hated every second of that. Since its already applied and i'm scared to damage the paint by yanking it off, I have my ceramic guy taking it off for me this weekend and re-installing a new one.

@SierraHarley after ceramic i'm going to send you a beauty shot.

Just curious, what do you plan on using the racks for?
At present, no need.

In future, longer lumber, extra gear, skis. Hoping to do a cross country trek in a couple years. I just had it on my mind as that coupon code was single use and had an expiration date. Figured 50% off was worthy of at least considering up-front. As my needs aren't present and might change, figured skipping was the right call. I got the T slot cover just so I was ready if/when the time came.

Beautiful truck Bubba, I'm right there with you. I went with a Cypress Gray LT Trail Boss (needed the 6th seat). Looks like I'll be following this thread!

Don't forget a headache rack will render your bed camera useless...

DUUUUUUUUDE I wanted mine in that color SO bad. The dealer had two, the person who arrived before me got the cypress. Such a good looking color especially with blackout badges haha.

Some of the headache racks have a high boy option that still lets the cameras do their thing, but, a good point for sure. I think as of now im just sticking with the tonneau and going to build out some type of removable/modular rack. As of now im in the office for like 70 hrs a week so not like I have time to go on any adventures for a while haha

Oh absolutely, way too quiet for me. I doubt I'll get passed the sticker shock of Borla, but I'm sure a Super 10 or 40 will let her purrr. Your ZR2 deserves the Borla tho!

EDIT: Didn't realize the 2500 Borla kit was almost half the cost of the 1500, not bad honestly.
Yeah the S-type is about $1200/1300. Thats what I'll get, just depends on when. Probably wait for a holiday sale

What kinda punch to the wallet was she?
The truck I got for $68k ish. $10k down (trade equity), 72 month note at 4.9 through GM financial with plans to pay it off in 28-42 months. Added a 7 year/100k bumper to bumper for $2k ish. GAP Plus coverage for $700.

Bug guard and tonneau I got at 50% off so $850 and $50 or so.
Tint was $190
The Borla is $1,300 ish but im waiting for a sale.
Racks seem ungodly expensive, waiting on that for now.

I do have the killer speakers and amps that I am considering using at some point in future

Damn, I haven’t even put on 1200 miles since December :D
The company I started with in Dec moved me to a different storefront. 20 extra miles a day.

That said, I am a little surprised. Since moving to MI i've been averaging 9k a year. Seems like I might be a little ahead of that. Must have been those first few days of excitedness haha

RYOBI - ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless 220 CFM 140 MPH Compact Blower (Tool-Only)
