Hello,

My LS 1500 came with the 7 pin wiring harness for a trailer. I went to Advanced Auto, Harbor Freight, and Blain Farm & Fleet and I could not find the right 7 pin adapter to a 4 flat pin.

I saw plenty of 7 blade (RV), and 7 round adapters. Nothing looked like it would fit the 7 pin found on the Silverado.

Are there any chain stores that would carrier the right Silverado adapter from 7 pin to 4 pin?

I could easily order it online, but hoping to pick one up tomorrow.

THANKS

As far as I know, they're all generic 7-pin adapters... There is no "silverado" adapter. Have you tried plugging in one to see if it would fit?

If you have AutoZone's I think that is where I bought one few years ago for our Jeep Commander.

A little off topic...It will be a year or so before I will be towing anything so what can I use on the 7-pin so it doesn't corrode.

Thanks

Got mine at Wal Mart. It had a little LED that lights up, so you know you've seated the connector correctly. $20 maybe?
And, I think they are all standard...

I got mine at a local O'Reilly. Same price as the rest... it worked great when I had a 4-pin trailer :)!

I have about 20 of them sitting 15 feet from me right now at my RV dealership. We sell them for $6.49.

GM factory tow packages (and most others) use a 7 way blade connector. These are the most popular and easiest to find. There is also a 7 way "pin" style and a 6 way "pin style. We almost never see these anymore. I will attach a picture for your reference showing flat four adapters for all 3 types. The one on the left is the most common blade type.

There are also 7 way to flat 5 adapters that have a reverse light circuit for trailers with surge brakes.

Same here...think I also bought one from Advanced or Autozone too, they have a tendency to grow legs when you don't use them that often.

It is nothing more than a generic "7-way RV" plug...the plug doesn't look like it would fit the socket, but it will.

Fluid film.
Standard old grease works too...

I haven't determined if the GM is the same, but the receptacle contacts in my 04.5 Dodge 2500 were stainless steel...it never corroded in the 270k+ miles, and 8 Pennsylvania winters I owned it. The trailer plug on the other hand did...
