Eventually I would be specifically looking for used ~2020 (GMC or Chevy) Crew Cab trucks. ALL (?) have this screen above... what are those called? Monitor Screen? Information Display Screen? Camera Display? Does those name(s) include control knobs or it's called by separate name, such as control panel (same as climate control panel?)?
I haven't test drive these trucks yet, so I haven't had chance to play with cameras. I like to ask about this above screen. MOST have just two icons (backup camera and trailer camera), while FEW have three icons (and hitch camera). Are there more (for ~2020 models)?
While MOST have the first two icon, there would be 2 cameras on the tailgate, correct? Would a 3rd icon (hitch camera) have 3 cameras in the back?
On newer models, it appears there's a GPS hovering around the truck and screen shows buildings and streets from top view LOL? I am not asking about these new features/technology in here.
When I watch videos (again, ~2020 models), I get the idea of the follow: (correct me above or below)
The backup camera (first icon) is regular rear-pointing camera (only lights up upon Reverse shift) and the guide line (green, red, yellow) turns as turning the steering wheel.
The trailer camera... it connects to another rear camera (bluetooth?) behind a traveler trailer. It then displays rear behind the trailer. How? Through trailer plug or separate cable (into where/what)?
The hitch camera is a camera with focus downwards (narrow) to hitch area? The driver would be able to watch the screen and park the truck exact when the coupler meets the hitch. The old fashioned way is move, park, walk out and look, then walk back, move, park, walk out and look, etc. This (hitch camera) interests me as I think it would be a feature I like to have (for haul trailers there and there).
Did I get the idea right?
I have seen some trucks have more cameras, like under the outside-side mirrors, etc. Those would be (factory) special models or 3rd party add-on?
