Silverado Steering Issues

I could really use some help...and couldn'tfind a catagory that this would fit in. I have a 94 Silverado...Ext Cab, 4x4, 305... and it has crazy play in the steering. Like an 8th of a turn play. So its a real pain to keep it from dancing all over the road...looking like I'm a drunk driver or something. How can I fix this? How can I tighten it up so there's little to no play in my steering? Cuz it'll really be a pain when I get the bigger lift and tires than what I already got. Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Besides the front shocks...which I just bought new ones but haven't installed yet...everything is good. Just have that play in the steering. In fact...all 3 of my Chevys have a ton of play in the steering. My 90 Scottsdale, my 94 Silverado and my 97 Silverado. It's just worse on my 94...and is more noticable due to the lift and larger meats on it

If it's got that much play, Id say something has to be excessively worn. The only other thing that would cause a lack of control would be for the caster to be way out of adjustment. That would not cause the looseness though.
