Skyjacker Lift kit for the GMT800's (06 Silverado)

Welcome. 3" is a bad number to have in mind for lifting. You can't lift to 3", as most kits will start at 4". And a level kit would max to 2.5", but 2" is a safer bet to keep geometry in mind. And with this type of truck, most kits for 6" will really just be a 4" kit, and then include new torsion keys to crank up for the last 2". That does give you 6", but cranking the keys even without a lift kit will make the ride a bit more harsh and put stress on front end parts. It's really just not a good idea. Ask me, I have a 2006, and I tried everything to get a big truck without a kit, and eventually max-cranked and then lost count on how much the ride sucked and how many issues I had.

So you could just go with a 4" kit, which would keep you at near flat CV angles. I think there is one company, Fabtech maybe, that offers a full 6" drop kit, so you don't need to mess with torsion.

On my truck, I did a bit more work and deleted the Torsion bars and installed brackets for coil-overs with a 4" kit....sort of a bastardized lift, but it rides better...yet the truck is old and tired at this point, but still gets me around...lol
