My tune/volume and gpm/oil/w/e light went out in my steering wheel of my 06 2500. Any idea how to fix these certain lights or get them out so I can replace the lights without messing with the airbag?

Good chance it's an LED and the entire switch will have to be replaced. If your feeling squirly, replacement shouldn't be that tough. The air bag is defensless when you yank the fuse or disconnect the battery. Just don't drop it!
u need to replace the switch itself..its like 25 bux at the dealer..they are all about the same..i had to replace all but one switch when i got my truck..I actually took the switches out myself..but its impossible to hook the harness in without taking the steering wheel off..i just let the dealer do it
I have various buttons on my steering wheel not working as well. I called the dealer and they said they can replace all of them for about $300. However, I know the buttons can simply be fixed by re-soldering in new LED's. Does anyone which specicifc fuse disables the airbags on a 2006 Silverado and how to remove the buttons from the steering wheel? Once I get to that point I will be able to fix it.
It should show which fuse is for the air bag in the owners manual or on the fusebox cover but you really do not need to know that. Just unplug the airbag harness at the base of your steering column. It should be identified with a yellow label.
My friend bought the lights from radio shack and replaced them, but he said it was a tough job and he would just order new switches next time. But they are replaceable if you really want to so it..
If the bulbs are part of the switches, can only be replaced with a new switch, and they fail within the warranty period, wouldn't they be covered under warranty?
Just replaced bulbs in steering wheel switch. Used 3mm led and resistor, solder in! Pain but way cheaper than 25x4 for new switches
