I am wanting to swap the intake from my 2017 Silverado 5.3 with a manifold and throttle body from 6.2...my question.. Is this a direct swap bolt on and if so will you have to get a tune for new throttle body to work? Reason for swap is hoping for more throttle response... This is my first time posting and any help/advice is appreciated

Yeah if you really want the utmost throttle response go back to a cable and get away from fly by wire.. I would think you'd need a specific tune. And not to mention you are not cramming more air through, so even if you put a bigger throttle body on it, I doubt you would gain any power as your motor in stock form can only flow so much fuel and air...

Well I looked for larger throttle body but couldn't find any for 5.3 unless you get machined... Also reading this forum someone suggested to replace with 6.2... I asked same question never got a response... But yes the 6.2 tb is larger so would have more airflow.. So in my opinion I would think have more response and power.. Probably not much

swapping the throttle body won't do anything for throttle response.. .

get your stock throttle body ported/polished... that helps with throttle response...

A ported throttle body definitely helps with better/quicker throttle response and acceleration - I have ported throttle bodies on both my Camaro and Suburban... contact Bo White - he's the porting guru... makes a big difference... you can contact Bo White at: Portsculptor AT bellsouth DOT net

What we are getting at, is that even if it was plug and play, it would be a waste of money... Just because it is a bigger throttle body, that does not necessarily mean your car will gain more power. Yes, it is capable of flowing more air, but unless the rest of the engine is also capable of flowing more air, you will gain no extra power, or not enough to justify the cost. The motor regardless of how much the throttle body will flow will only put so much fuel with stock air flow levels.
