I've searched the net looking too see if anyone has done this. I've came up empty. But I haven't put a ton of time into searching either. Work has been crazy. I want to get rid of the 5202 housings because the way the bulbs clip into them is a pain and one of mine is currently broken. There are places that sell the same exact housing for the nnbs Silverado but they take a 880 bulb. I'm assuming the 5202 wiring harness doesn't plug into a 880 bulb but I don't know for sure either. Has anyone done this swap? Thanks.

Looks pretty straight forward. Identical housing...just different bulb like you mention.

Only issue I see, is that there may be a difference in the stock harness plug that goes into a 5202 bulb vs the 880. Which would mean getting new wire harness plugs to swap out. Unless they are the same. I cant see them to tell.

For free? That would have been a sweet find. I have looked at morimoto's. They look super nice but they cost some good coin. Right now I'm running 5202 25 watt 3k hids in my fogs. I was thinking of going to the 880 housing because my current housings one fogs up and both have the little clips broken on them. So the lights don't lock in correctly. I recently pulled the trigger on a set of these to replace the hids in my low beams. http://www.vleds.com/shop-application/a ... h8-h9.html. They have great reviews and have adjustable index. I got them on sale as well. They claim they can be used in any housing without glare. They also have a 30 day no hassle return. The hids are 35 watt ddm tuning 5k. They are great but I was wanting a more focused beam pattern. I don't ever get flashed but I know they have some glare. But they don't glare like some I've seen around recently. So anyway if I end up liking the vleds I might end up upgrading the fogs shortly after.

So you rather pay $150 for a set of bulbs that won't work that good in oem housings rather than spend $180 on xb led housings that are specifically made for the leds?

Also I have the vleds in my street bike. They are a nice product.

First off I already bought the less for my low beams. Which is not why I started this thread. I didn't say that I wasn't going to go with the morimotos I said they simply costed some coin. I don't have unlimited buckets of money to spend on stuff for my truck. I also did not spend $150 on the low beams. I got the on sale like I said. I got them for $117 that's with shipping. Also everything I've bought from vleds has been top notch. Great leds and super bright. But a little expensive.

Kind of on "ferrailol1" side. I bought the 880 fog light housing and replace them with some LED fog lights, don't get me wrong, they're bright but not that good. in bad weather conditions they kinds suck. there're only good in wooded areas. I'm honestly saving for the morimoto fog lights.
