I’m installing long tubes in the next few months and want to go ahead with a cam swap also. Landed on the truck Norris btr cam. My question is, will the truck run without a tune? I am wanting to update my current lewtune after cam and headers. I emailed him and he told me if it’s a small enough cam and the truck runs and doesn’t stall out he can tune it. If it stalls though I need to go somewhere in person.

Has anyone had him tune their truck for this cam? Or have you had luck with the truck running without a tune? I understand it’s going to run horribly but if I can get him the logs he needs to be able to do it I’d be super pleased.

It's gonna be a lot more convenient to have it tuned in person on a dyno, versus going back and forth sending data logs to a remote tuner and uploading numerous tunes to get it to run right..let alone to make max power to the wheels which is really what you're paying for.

Hi, I swapped a BTR stage 1 Truck Cam into my old 5.3 (It already had a Lew tune) It ran post swap, but it wasn't pretty. I jumped straight on the freeway and captured a log, emailed it to Lew and he responded super fast with a new tune for me. Loaded the new tune and it ran awesome ever since.
You are going to love how much better your Truck runs.
