I'm not sure about your 2008, but the solution on my 2000 might help you find what you're looking for.
A. My door ajar sensor is simply connected the door latch mechanism. In other words, if I take an object and collapse the door latch mechanism in the door, the computer thinks my door is shut. This is not practical of course, because unless you remember to pull the door handle, if you go to shut the door.... Bad things. Not to mention the dome light wouldn't work. This is more FYI.
B. This is what you're after... In my interior fuse panel on the left side of the dash, is a brown harness plug with about 4-5 wires. 3 or 4 tan and one black in the upper right of the plug (looking at as plugged in. If you look at it from the female unplugged side, it would be the upper left most). The previous owner had apparently equally disliked the dinging and simply cut the wire. No ding... I found this out quickly when I reconnected it.
I don't recall if this wire cut had any impact on the dome lights, it was the first of many "wire muckeries" that I found and reversed from the P/O.
I'm leaving mine connected like factory, but if you found the equivalent wire on the 2008 model; I might recommend putting in a switch in the line versus just cutting it. It at least gives you the override/disable option.
