This. (y) I haven't had an external XM units in ages, but still been able to transfer my sub from one new vehicle to another. Sometimes they charge a fee, sometimes they don't.🤷‍♂️ Even with the fee, I've saved a lot of moolah with the $299 lifetime sub since 2004.

Issue for most? Probably not.

I haven't used any type of aux jack in years.
Some are still having frustrations because manufacturers are doing away with CD players.
Again, something that "most" people just don't use anymore.

Of course if either of those two things are something you rely on, it might be an issue.
But technology marches on, and you might have to adapt.

@roorancher Have you considered buying the OEM radio with bluetooth built in? I thought I had shared that with you before.
I started looking for CDs again until I can justify the purchase.
I had one of those with BT built-in (added as an accessory,) in my 91 TA until the CD player went bad....so I purchased another one because it wasn't worth repairing the CD segment of the radio, and now instead of built-in BT I have an iSimple ISFM 2381 (Ebay,) in each car, because it also gives you hands free calling and receiving capability.
