Vinyl wrap

Got a color deck today and I'm thinking of using some vinyl as accent.

I want to remove the SS rocker kit as well as replace the body side molding with a simple black smooth molding about 2" tall, Seeing the truck is red and 10 yo the color under the SS panels is not going to match the rest of the sun faded paint, so I'm thinking of doing a rocker wrap. Also thinking of wrapping the SS fender trim, chrome of the bumpers and grill with black chrome.

Whatcha y'all think

Can't tell you what colors to go with, but I've been looking long and hard at wrapping my truck. Well, I should say wheels as I've seen tons of videos and it's waaayy cheaper than new rims. Down the road I'll get new ones but for now I'm going wrap. Also gonna put on rally stripes. I've looked at that black chrome, looks nice. Should go good with your red, but like I said, go with what you like. It's your truck after all.

If I had a commercial pizza oven I'd do the powder coat black chrome thing. Maybe I need to make friends with the delivery kid from Papa Johns.

I've read good things about this vinyl mfg Vvivid, and their prices are better then 3M.

Also looking at customvinyllettering.net for making some Sierra badges of my own design.

Nice truck, you drive that?

Yea, I've seen better prices than 3m 1080 series wrap, but for my first time and especially doing the rims, figured I'd go with a little more to get the quality. That's the idea anyway. And yea, on a sim called iRacing, I try and drive anyway. Lets you paint vehicles

Get rid of the ss rocker panels and wheel well trim but leave the rest alone.

The color under the SS will be darker then the rest, so that's what I'm planning to cover with the vinyl, and the side molding chrome is starting to bubble up, so it needs to be changed out. As far as the fender trim, I'm sure the paint is scuffed under there, I'd like some small profile bushwhackers, but their about $400 for the full set.

You may be surprised by the paint fade. I pulled the side moldings off my 06 a couple weeks ago and there is zero difference in the color. Mine is the sport red/maroon. I've only had it for about 2 years now, and its been garaged most of that time, but I don't know about the previous owners. I live in washington too, in Pasco. So it sees plenty of sun.

I'm just north of Seattle so my truck has only seen the sun once, it was a Tuesday, between 1:15 and 1:42 back in 2011
Well maybe the paint quality it better then 20 years ago when I detailed cars. Pulling off the pin strip you could always see where it was on red. But I've always been known as Mr. Doom and Gloom, I always plan for the worse and hope for the best.
I got an eraser wheel on the way so well see in a couple weeks. Can't do it this weekend unless I'm looking to get divorced, which I'm not, anniversary is this Saturday.
