What HID is worth it?

So when I got my truck, the guy said that he had a HID kit installed, but it was not working so he went back to the standard lights. So I am REALLY considering getting another kit, but am not sure who to go with. The kit that is still installed, but not running, is made by XENTEC. I can not find any info on them online to find out how to go about a warranty claim. :(

+1 for Krypton. If you search here for them, you will find a lot of comments. I have had the 5,000k bulbs installed for almost 6 months, and I love them.

Since you don't know what's wrong with the kit you have, I would just start from scratch. The total kit is cheap, so why not do that, and know you have it done right.

I've used Xentec's before, they were pretty good. Reality is HID Kits are cheap enough on eBay that it doesn't really matter which brand you go with... You can pickup a kit for about $35 bucks. Typically I just pick whichever looks good at first glance :) I've used HID's in 3 vehicles so far and I've never been loyal to one brand, unless you wanna consider eBay the brand

Look at V-LEDS as well, they are where I will probably pick my kit up at when I decide it's time to pick up a set and they will probably end up in my Sierra and the Boss's Terrain.

I am a member on the r6-forum and thats where I first heard from him. Hundreds of people are running his kits on their bikes and vehicles. I Just recently did the projector mod for my bike which turned out really nice. He also just started another forum dedicated to all things Yamaha that I am helping him moderate so if anyone rides dirt, snow, sand, pavement.. anything hit me up and I will pass along his site. (Don't need to go advertising another forum on here)

He is a good guy and good customer service.

Quick snap of projectors in my motorcycle. I am sure if someone was inclined enough they could retro fit projectors into the NBS Silverado/Sierra.

I got my HID's from DDM. Although they work perfectly, and I am completely satisfied with the product, not so much with DDM. I received mis-information, false tracking numbers, and a couple of what I consider outright lies. Nearly a month from when they got their money until I received my HID kit. In this day and age, a week is pushing it when the product is in stock.

I "think" y'all have the NNBS ... do the HID kits fit with your stock enclosures? Do the diffusers impact the light output? The reason I ask, I have the NBS Sierra and the stock light enclosure glass looks like it would diffuse a LOT. I was considering ordering Denali projector enclosures, then install HID kits ... (either DDM or Krypton). Has anyone done this?

...oh, and I recently replaced my turn signal/DRL enclosures from Amazon for ... $8.00'ish each. GMDirect wanted $60'ish each. I think the dealer quoted me $70'ish each ... /tipoff

I put HID's with no special enclosures in my 2010. The light has a nice cut off, with minimum scattered light. I rarely get any one "flashing" me.
I could see on your model how the light may diffuse a bit more, but there are lots of guys running them here, with no issues and great light output.
