See very little on how to size an alternator for any truck when pulling a camper . Have a 2500HD Silverado and has a small 105 amp alt. and runs at 12 amps when pulling a camper toy hauler . Camper has inverter to charge on board batteries and has side markers and signal lights and number plate lights plus uses a P3 brake controller and requires 6 or 7 amps to operate the camper brakes which are magnetic .So what size alternator do I need to have when pulling a camper ? See Chevy installs alts on a vehicle and has only extra 10 to 15 amps for reserve power . griprim12
