State Farm, but also have all my policies through them. When I shop around I might save on car insurance and lose on homeowners or vice versa. It all washes out close to the same. Last years hail storms hit me hard and customer service through them was outstanding.

From my lawyer's perspective, any of the off brands are also a beating to deal with. Then again in the insurer's play book (all of them):

Rule #1: Deny the claim
Rule #2: Deny the claim
Lawsuit: Rule #3: Deny the claim until we are forced into settlement

 

We have everything bundled, cars, truck, T.T. thru Pekin. Great thing about them, its only a arm and part of a leg every 4 months

 

Right now I'm through travelers(I think). My insurance rep is a broker so every 6 months he shops around for and gets the best deals.

When I had a motorcycle, camper, my truck, my wife's tahoe, and my house I switched to him and he saved me $300 a month! He's saved friends and family a ton of money too.

TL;DR find a broker.

 

Since I'm only 19 I'm still on my parents insurance which is state farm. I wrecked my truck last april and state farm's service was great to say the least. They never argued about paying any of my hospital bills. They also gave me high book out of my truck compared to trying to cheat me.

+1 on State Farm, I've been with them for 25 years and they have been great, wrecks (not my fault) hailstorms, tickets, (a couple, hey it's a fast Silverado! :lol: ) and everything else in-between. Never have had an increase on my rates. Annual policy $790.00

 

I have state farm. They are a little higher than those fly by night insurance companies but when my car got totaled they were great in the whole process.

I'm with State Farm now, but won't be come renewal. They have crept my 6 month price of 2 cars up $125 over 3 years with 0 claims and 0 tickets. I priced Allstate online and it was over $100 savings.

 

State Farm...house, Sierra, S10 Blazer and motorcycle. Had them for 16 years on my trucks...never an increase...fast to fix things and I like my agent. $1800 a year but I've got high high limits on bodily harm on the bike and 10k accessory rider.

 

I have my homeowners and auto through Amica. Cheaper than most because they don't advertise and don't have local offices. Has always rated #2 (behind USAA) in the rankings.

 

Recently had a broker shop for me, Traveler's came out as the cheapest by far - they rated me as a 25 year old even though I'm 22 because of my perfect driving record.

I'd say the big names would be better for bundling and premium coverage, but I know they're downright cruel to us young'uns.

 

I'm a firm believer that your insurance is only as good as your agent. Find an agent you know you can trust, and they will inevitably treat you right. I've been with State Farm (same agent) since age 16, and everyone I talk to can't believe how good my rates are.

last six months I was with State Farm @ $840 went to renew and the price went up to 950 for six months. Called gieco and it was $615 for six months... I switched

 

State Farm too. Been with them for over 20yrs. Both vehicles, house, shop, atv's. Shop others many times but never found anything better, cheaper maybe but not better.

Be careful with the online and so-called discount insurances. Lady I know found out the hard way the discount insurance was at a discount for a reason. Not enough coverage and she ended up having to write a check when she was involved in an accident. Other owner sued and the online insurance would not help her. She saved a $100 on the premium but had to pay over $5,000 out of pocket to settle up medical bills her insurance did not cover.

 

I have AARP motorhome insurance. Since I joined the AARP, the discounted rates have made it affordable to own an RV. It's not cheap service either because I totally understand how you wouldn't want to go for the cheapest thing and end up in paying out of pocket if the time does come. I'm sure the AARP has auto insurance discounts too.

I agree. USAA is the best I have ever seen Customer Service wise. I lived in Colorado Springs for 3 years (many hail storms). They drove to my house the next day, appraised the damage and had a check in my hand as quick as ive ever seen. Very easy to deal with and their website has many easy to use features.

 

My family uses Farmers' Insurance, mostly because we have a great agent. They don't offer commercial and business coverage, so I'm with Advance insurance. My rates are really high, since I'm 20, but it's $2200\year for the truck, plow, and my employee is covered when he drives, too. Total insurance costs (liability, worker's comp, and truck) are under $3000, so I'm really happy with these guys.

 

State Farm here. Amazingly fast claims response and great customer service. Rates are good too.

 

Another for usaa. By far the best. Had a few claims with them and everything was great. A tornado hit my house last April and they sent agents from San Antonio to the base to do all the assessing and what not. Only took one day to assess and money was in my account next day. They even covered things that housing didnt.

 

I'm with Progressive. I have been with them for like 7 or 8 years. They are the cheapest for me with the lowest deductible and best coverages.

State farm here too, can't comment on claims cause I've never had one, knock on wood! Doubt I'll ever have a problem seeing as my mother in law works for state farm!
