Coming from a 2005 Silverado 2500HD LS, Was using a Reese 3 ball hitch straight bar. Now with my 2024 I'm looking to get one of the BW tow and stow hitches but I'm not sure exactly how to figure what I need. They have 5", 7" and 8.5" drop. So those do allow some adjustment. I definitely don't want to go overboard. My 2024 is not lifted or anything, it's stock how it came. So what do I need to measure to find out what drop I really need.
Should I level out my trailer and pull the 2024 back to it and see the distance between the trailer coupler and the receiver then I'd get an idea of what I need.

What i do is measure to the top of the receiver hitch.
Connect trailer to truck with whatever you have.
Measure again to top of hitch.
That is how much your truck is going to squat with the load.
Now disconnect trailer and level it. Measure to your bottom of the coupler.

Now you know your truck height loaded and unloaded and the trailer height when level.

I have an adjustable hitch on the back of my 2500HD similar to this Curt so I can change the height properly for each different trailer that I have to pull.
