Not that I've ever heard. And just to be clear, the manual mode doesn't show you what gear your in, it shows the highest gear you can go in.

 

You could get an OBDII reader and the Torque app (works on android for sure, maybe iphone) and that will let you monitor tons of info, including current gear of your transmision.

I thought about doing the obd2 reader but I was thinking about this because at work (I'm an auto tech) I drove a f@$d and when I put it in drive a gear indicator illuminated and showed what gear it was in.

When I did a Google search for a obd2 dongle, I found the torque website. The only compatible adapters they list are expensive. Got a link or name for the cheap ones? And how well do they work?

Both of these have been used by list member with good results. I have one of each and they both seem to work fine....I do prefer the BAFX product however. It was easier to set up and get running with my phone.
